Nightlife businessman and social figure Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, was met with loud jeers while performing at an event in Abuja.
The Imo-born entertainer had taken the stage to perform one of his tracks but quickly noticed the crowd’s lack of enthusiasm. In an attempt to revive the atmosphere, he tried to engage the audience, but his efforts did not yield the desired response.
Instead, sections of the crowd repeatedly chanted, “We no send your papa,” signaling clear disapproval.
The reaction appears to reflect broader political sentiments in Abuja, where a number of residents have remained critical of the administration led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the 2023 general elections.
Cubana Chief Priest, who is affiliated with the APC and serves as a state director for the City Boy Movement in the South East, had previously expressed regret over not backing President Tinubu earlier. He noted that he had believed the common phrase, “Relax, Tinubu will fix Nigeria.”
Given his political stance, the audience’s response during the performance made their dissatisfaction evident, as the socialite struggled to win them over.
