A Nigerian soldier has shared a deeply emotional message online, highlighting the ongoing losses of his comrades to kidnappers, bandits, and Boko Haram insurgents across the country.
In a video that quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter) via @General_Somto, the soldier voiced the anguish of witnessing fellow troops fall while putting their lives on the line daily to protect citizens.
“We are losing our brave men every day to kidnappers, bandits, Boko Haram. Ahhh… God, you are our only hope and Savior. Please let us not regret the oath we swore,” he said.
He also revealed that several colleagues have been killed while engaging criminal groups and terrorists, underscoring the harsh realities faced by soldiers on the frontlines.
The soldier’s emotional message called for divine intervention, painting a vivid picture of the heartbreak experienced by those defending the nation.
Despite their sacrifices, attacks from insurgents and criminal gangs continue in different regions of Nigeria, a situation that has prompted nationwide attention and increased calls for support, prayers, and stronger protective measures.
