Unknown Gunmen kill retired judge in Benue

Unknown gunmen killed Justice Margaret Igbetar, a former president of the Customary Court of Appeal in Makurdi, Benue State,.

Her son reportedly found her remains at her home on Wantor Kwange Street, across from the School of Medicine at Benue State University, on Thursday evening.

According to a family member, the body had already begun to deteriorate when it was discovered in the woman’s home.

The source added that the murder was reported to the “E” Division Police station in Makurdi as soon as the woman’s body was found.

“Her corpse seems to be decomposing at the time the body was found, suggesting, she must have been killed before Thursday,” the source revealed.

Although SP Daniel Ezeala, the divisional police officer, could not be reached right away for comment, a reliable police source confirmed the occurrence.
