An unidentified man has been discovered dead inside a Peugeot 406 vehicle at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
Confirming the incident in a statement on Monday, September 8, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said investigations have commenced into the matter.
According to her, the decomposing body has been deposited at the Asokoro General Hospital while efforts are ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death.
Adeh explained that the Command received a distress call on September 7, 2025, around 9 a.m., about a lifeless male body suspected to be that of a labourer found at a construction site within the National Assembly Complex.
She stated:
“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), National Assembly Division, immediately responded to the call and, upon arrival, discovered the deceased inside a red Peugeot 406 motor vehicle with registration number BWR-577 BF. The body was promptly evacuated to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed that it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.”
Adeh further noted that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Olawale, has ordered a discreet investigation into the case and directed that all efforts be intensified to establish the identity of the deceased.
