Isaac Fayose has come to the defense of Peter Obi amid criticisms labeling him an “Online President.”
In a recent statement directed at social commentator Gehgeh, Fayose insisted that Obi has played his part in Nigeria’s political struggle and should not be dismissed. According to him, history will judge the former presidential candidate fairly.
Fayose pointed out that while many critics describe Obi as weak, he was physically present at a protest last week advocating for real-time electronic transmission of election results. He questioned those attacking Obi online, asking where they were during the protest.
He also criticized some Nigerians for prioritizing online entertainment figures over civic engagement, saying many prefer to follow personalities like Peller and Carter Efe rather than actively fight for their rights.

Peter Obi doesn’t understand how local politics is play and that’s why Tinubu is above all of them when it comes to politics

This is exactly the point…real change isn’t built from likes and retweets. Peter Obi has been out there on the streets, fighting for transparency and our votes. Sitting online and criticizing while others take action doesn’t make you a supporter,it just makes you a spectator.

Activism isn’t measured by noise online or who trends , it’s measured by presence, consistency, and what you’re willing to stand for offline. History usually remembers participation, not commentary.
