NYSC DG Conferred with Fellowship of Nigerian Army Resource Centre

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellow of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.

The investiture ceremony took place at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, where the Director General of the Centre, Major General Garba Ayodeji Wahab (rtd), presented the certificate to General Ahmed.

The event featured a lecture on health security, with Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, represented by Major General Ayoola Aboaba, as the Special Guest of Honour. He emphasized the importance of population data in planning national health infrastructure, adding that a robust health system with an efficient database would enhance emergency response.

In his remarks, Brigadier General Ahmed expressed gratitude to the management of the centre for the honour, recalling his previous role as Deputy Director at the institution.

The Guest Speaker, Dr. Kumshida Yakubu Balami, a public health expert, highlighted the link between public health and national security. She stressed the need for health surveillance to mitigate threats such as humanitarian crises and terrorism affecting parts of the country.
