Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has faced criticism after a video surfaced showing him directing questions about his grandson Liam’s DNA test to his personal social media accounts on YouTube and TikTok.
The footage, taken during a street interview, quickly went viral, prompting backlash from Nigerians who felt the family matter was being treated like entertainment content.
In the video, Baba Mohbad was asked about circulating rumors suggesting that Liam’s DNA test had already been completed. He clarified that the matter is still before the court and no test has been conducted yet.
“There’s nothing like that, because the adjournment case is going to be on the 7th of April and we’re still in March, so there’s nothing like the DNA being done,” he said.
When pressed for updates, Baba Mohbad explained that he had already addressed the issue in detail and did not wish to repeat himself. He directed anyone seeking information to his social media channels.
“I’ve said a lot already. I don’t want to be repeating myself. Anybody that wants to know anything about the DNA should go to my YouTube channel or my TikTok and they’ll see everything there,” he stated.
He also expressed frustration over external pressures, alleging that certain influential figures in Lagos State were attempting to complicate matters for him.
“The main issue troubling me involves Lagos State. With one powerful man involved, they are trying to use this situation to frustrate me. I’m not happy, as you can see,” Baba Mohbad added.
