A man in Umuahia, Abia State, reportedly locked his girlfriend’s shop and issued a severe threat against her if she attempted to regain entry.
The incident was confirmed on Monday, November 34, 2025, by human rights activist Ochiegbu Marvelous, who subsequently led a team to the scene to break the lock and open the shop.
The activist strongly condemned the man’s action, noting that he had no legal right to restrict access, as all legal documents for the shop were in the woman’s name.
Ochiegbu first shared the man’s threat:
“Boyfriend don go lock em girlfriend shop for umuahia Abia state and vowed to deal with her if she tamper the key. I go help am break the shop key today then wait for his reactions. Osee abalam Anya,” he wrote.
Following the successful intervention, Ochiegbu posted an update, challenging the man’s unjustified move:
“Shop successfully opened. We are waiting for his next line of action. He don’t have any right to lock her shop. No justifiable reason at all. Some men should learn ooooo. Osee abalam Anya!! Uwam. Shop rent and other receipts bears the lady name. So wetin una want tell me,” he added.
