Veteran actor Jide Kosoko has revealed that despite over 60 years in Nollywood, his career hasn’t brought him significant wealth.
Speaking on *The Honest Bunch* podcast, the 71-year-old actor said he is comfortable but does not consider himself rich by Nigerian standards.
“I thank God that I can eat three square meals. But can I claim to be a rich man by Nigerian standards? No,” he stated.
Kosoko blamed piracy for the industry’s financial struggles and called for stricter penalties. He suggested a 20-year jail sentence without an option of a fine as a stronger deterrent.
The actor, who started his career as a child actor in 1964 with the TV production *Makanjuola*, has since featured in hundreds of Nollywood films in both English and Yoruba languages.
