Iyabo Ojo has declared that she is willing to collaborate with any political party committed to creating a better future for Nigeria.

Her statement comes after controversy trailed a promotional video she made for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

GistLover reports that FAAN recently shared a video on X showing Iyabo Ojo commending what she described as improvements at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Posting the same clip, she wrote: “FAAN is changing for the better in so many ways. I’m so proud of my country.”

The video sparked mixed reactions online, with some critics referencing her previous political position. Many reminded FAAN and the Federal Government that the actress had criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu and supported Peter Obi during the 2023 general elections.

Addressing the speculation, FAAN’s Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, dismissed claims that Iyabo Ojo was awarded any contract or appointed as an ambassador for the agency.

Reacting to the backlash, Iyabo Ojo maintained that she is unapologetic and clarified that she made the video out of goodwill to promote Nigeria. She denied receiving payment and stressed that she is ready to work with any political party focused on building a better tomorrow.

Writing on her Instagram page, she said:

“I’m Nigerian. And I’m a voice. When I see progress, airports upgraded, roads rebuilt, systems improved etc, I shout it from the rooftops if need be, not because I am being paid, not because I am political, but because I feel it and I want good for my country. I will continue to use my craft, my voice, to promote Nigeria, and I am unapologetic about it.

“FAAN approached me that you have seen the changes. Please help us spread the word. So I did it for free. No contract. Just love for Nigeria. If Nigeria must rise we ALL must build it. Silence helps no one. I will work with any political party as long as it is building a better tomorrow for our dear nation. No agenda. Just hands joined. Let’s stop dividing”, she said.

The situation comes amid ongoing reports that Seyi Tinubu has been appointing celebrities and influencers to lead support groups for his father’s re-election. DAILY POST also reports that the promotional video surfaced months after Iyabo, known for supporting Peter Obi, held a private meeting with Seyi Tinubu in Lagos.
