A businesswoman, Tracynither Nicolas Ohiri, has alleged that she was arrested on the orders of the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
In a viral video circulating online, Tracynither claimed she was being taken to Abuja and urged Nigerians to hold the minister and the police responsible if anything happens to her.
According to her, the dispute stems from an alleged unpaid debt for campaign materials she supplied 12 years ago. She further claimed that the issue became prolonged after she refused to date the minister.
“Nigerians, David Umahi, who has been owing me for 12 years, just arrested me. And right now they are taking me to Abuja. I am very high in my spirits, but should anything happen to me, Nigerians should hold David Umahi and the Nigerian police responsible,” she said in the video.
She accused the minister of using his political influence to target her, describing the situation as a misuse of power.
The development comes amid an ongoing dispute between both parties. Umahi has previously denied allegations of unpaid contracts and sexual harassment and has reportedly threatened legal action.
