A Nigerian man has gone viral on social media after sharing details of his salary progression while working at United Bank for Africa.
The man, identified as @ndukaomeife on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that he joined the bank in 2006 with a monthly salary of ₦96,000.
According to his post, his earnings increased over the years, rising to ₦270,000 in 2007, ₦440,000 in 2010, and ₦640,000 in 2014. Despite his years of service, he disclosed that he currently receives a monthly pension of ₦65,000.
“UBA 2006: N96,000 UBA 2007: N270,000 UBA 2010: N440,000 UBA 2014: N640,000. Pension 2020 till date: N65,000.😭😭😭. Plan for your retirement o. And be intentional about it🙏🏿,” he wrote.
Reflecting further, the man shared that his career began in 1990 at Prime Masters Limited, followed by a role at Jones Emmanuel Promotions in 1991, where he earned ₦150 monthly.
