Twitter’s CEO, Elon Musk has removed the verification tag attached to the account of the former Vice-president of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
The verification tag, specifically designed for government officials, had previously been attached to Osinbajo’s account.
However, it has now been removed, leaving only the verification tag intact on the account of the former President, Muhammadu Buhari.
This development comes as Osinbajo and Buhari, officially handed over power to the new administration led by Bola Tinubu today, May 29, 2023.
As of press time, it remains uncertain why Twitter removed Osinbajo’s verification tag while retaining that of Buhari.
