Activist Deji Adeyanju has criticized the Nigerian government for allowing controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi to operate freely despite ongoing security concerns.
Speaking on the matter, Adeyanju stated, “How can Sheikh Gumi be walking freely while government claims to be f!ghting insecur!ty? He’s a terr0r!st sympathiser and the government knows exactly where the terr0r!sts are, they’re not just doing anything about it.”
He accused the authorities of inaction, suggesting that the government is aware of terrorist locations but has failed to respond effectively. This statement comes amid rising public concern over security threats in various parts of the country.
The comments reignite the debate over the role of influential religious figures in matters of national security and the government’s capacity to curb terrorism.
