Music stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr, alongside British-Nigerian media personality Niko Omilana, were among the top winners at the 2026 MOBO Awards held in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Wizkid secured the Best African Music Act award, beating fellow Nigerian stars including Davido, Rema, Shallipopi, Tiwa Savage, and Adekunle Gold.
Ayra Starr won the Best International Act category, surpassing global stars such as Cardi B, Gunna, and Kehlani.
Meanwhile, Niko Omilana emerged winner of the Best Media Personality category, beating nominees including Bemi Orojuogun, also known as Bus Aunty, and DJ Remi Burgz.
The 2026 edition of the MOBO Awards, held for the first time in Manchester, celebrated Black music and culture, recognising talents from across the globe.
Other celebrities of Nigerian descent also earned nominations, including Odeal, who was nominated for Best Male Act and Best R&B/Soul Act. British actors Wunmi Mosaku, Damson Idris, Dayo Koleosho, and Cynthia Erivo were also nominated in the Best Performance in a TV Show/Film category.
