Nollywood star Chinedu Ikedieze, widely known as Aki, and his wife, Stephanie Promise Ikedieze, have sparked mixed reactions online following the release of a comedy skit that appeared to parody online requests for medical donations.

The skit surfaced shortly after controversial influencer Blessing CEO disclosed that she is battling stage 4 cancer and appealed to the public for financial assistance.

On Wednesday, March 25, Blessing CEO posted an emotional video in which she opened up about her health condition, revealing visible hair loss and explaining that the illness had progressed to an advanced stage. She appealed for support to fund her treatment and shared her account details for donations. The video quickly gained traction online, attracting sympathy and concern from many of her followers.

Just two days later, Aki and his wife shared a comedic clip. In the skit, Stephanie acted as though she was deaf, mute, and blind, while Aki encouraged viewers to send money to their account. The scene took a humorous turn when she suddenly began to speak, prompting Aki to proclaim it as a miracle.

The skit mirrored the style of recent online fundraising appeals, and its timing has generated buzz on social media. Many Nigerians have commented on how quickly sensitive personal situations involving public figures can be turned into entertainment.

Some users also expressed concern that such content could blur the line between genuine medical appeals and comedy, potentially making it harder for people to distinguish between real cases and staged content.
