A Nigerian mother broke down in tears as she appealed to the nation’s leaders, highlighting the harsh conditions faced by soldiers on the frontlines combating insecurity.

The woman, whose son is an active soldier and whose husband is a retired serviceman, revealed that many troops endure silent suffering while confronting bandits, kidnappers, and insurgents.

In a heartfelt video that has been widely shared online, she urged authorities to pay greater attention to the welfare and safety of those risking their lives daily for the country.

She also shared that she has told her son he can return home if the demands of frontline service become too overwhelming.

She said:

“Please, leaders of Nigeria, our children are crying in the bush. They are suffering. These are people’s children. I have told my son that if he cannot cope, he should come back home. God will provide. I don’t want to lose my child.”

The grieving mother emphasized that she values having her son safe at home over losing him while serving the nation. She also called on the government to consider the concerns of military families and improve soldiers’ protection and welfare.

Her emotional appeal has resonated with many online, with Nigerians expressing empathy for soldiers and their loved ones. One social media user commented, “This video broke my heart. Truly heartbreaking,” while another added, “Our government must do more for those protecting us.”
