Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has responded to critics questioning why she continues to promote her blockbuster film, despite reports that it has already earned over ₦2.6 billion.
Addressing a skeptic who suggested she should take a break following the movie’s commercial success, Akindele explained her stance.
“Someone sent me a message saying, ‘Behind the Scenes has made over 2.6 billion, why are you still promoting it? Shouldn’t you relax now?” she shared.
Akindele, however, emphasized that financial achievements are not her main focus. She highlighted that consistency and perseverance are what drive long-term success.
“I told the person that it’s not about the money. The key is consistency. If you want to keep achieving success and breaking records, you must remain consistent and continuously promote your work. It’s never enough to stop,” she said.
Her perspective reflects the approach that has shaped her career: a dedication to sustained effort, strategic promotion, and ongoing growth, even after reaching major milestones.
