Media personality and Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni, has weighed in on the rise of the Village Boy Movement, which comes in response to the City Boy Movement supported by some prominent businessmen, including Cubana Chiefpriest and Obi Cubana.
The City Boy Movement, reportedly led by Seyi Tinubu, son of the president, had previously received backing from the two businessmen.
During a live discussion on Arise News, Oseni shared his perspective on the Village Boy Movement. He described the City Boy Movement as “delusional” if it assumes that financial resources alone dictate political outcomes.
Oseni emphasized that in the last general election, money was not the deciding factor and predicted that it would not determine future election results either. He highlighted that relying solely on monetary influence in politics is a misconception, and the upcoming elections will reveal the true impact of such strategies, exposing any irregularities if they arise.
The anchor also noted that those who continue to believe money controls everything in politics are entitled to hold that view.
Oseni’s comments have sparked discussions online. Some users suggested that the current administration might channel funds toward the City Boy Movement, pointing to budget allocations as potential evidence. Others sided with Oseni, applauding his position while criticizing Reuben Abati for appearing to show support for the City Boy Movement.
