A 19-year-old girl has cried out for help after alleging that she was deceived and trafficked to Mali under false pretences.
In a distressing account shared online, the teenager said her father allegedly convinced her to travel abroad with the promise that she would be engaged in legitimate trading activities. However, upon arrival, she claimed she discovered that she had instead been taken to a location where she was told she would be forced into prostitution.
According to her, she refused to comply with the demand, insisting that she had not agreed to such an arrangement. She further alleged that the woman who received her contacted her father, who then verbally abused her for refusing to cooperate.
The young woman is now appealing to the public and relevant authorities for urgent assistance, saying she fears for her safety and wants help returning home.
Her story has sparked widespread reactions online, with many expressing sympathy and calling for stronger action against human trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable young people.
