Akpoazaa Foundation has established a ₦500,000 Endowment Fund at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) to promote academic excellence, alongside the donation of a 500-capacity tent to support the institution’s forthcoming convocation ceremony.

The Founder of the Foundation and Group Managing Director of Akpoazaa Group, Dr. Frank Igbojindu, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kate Omenugha.

Dr. Igbojindu explained that the ₦500,000 Endowment Fund will be distributed annually in three categories: ₦250,000 for the Overall Best Graduating Student; ₦150,000 for the Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Management Sciences; and ₦100,000 for the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Accountancy.

“Education remains the most powerful tool for personal and societal transformation. By rewarding excellence, we are encouraging our young people to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their academic pursuits,” he said.

He further disclosed that the initiative at COOU was inspired by a similar academic endowment already established at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK).

“I decided to replicate here at COOU what I have already established at UNIZIK. When something is working and producing positive results, it is only wise to expand it. Excellence must not be limited to one institution,” Dr. Igbojindu stated.

According to him, the endowment is structured as an annual intervention to sustain a culture of academic competitiveness and merit-based recognition.

In addition, he donated a 500-capacity tent through Akpoazaa Event Planners to assist the university in hosting its upcoming convocation ceremony.
“Convocation is a celebration of hard work and achievement. Supporting it is symbolic of my belief that excellence deserves recognition and celebration,” he added.

Dr. Igbojindu reiterated that the gesture is part of his modest contribution to the advancement of education and youth development in Anambra State.

“As an indigene and proud son of Okija, I remain committed to investing in our young people. When we invest in education, we invest in the future of our state.”

The Akpoazaa Foundation continues to champion educational development under its guiding philosophy:
