Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has dismissed reports suggesting that he is estranged from his children with his first wife, May Edochie, stating that they still share a healthy relationship.
The actor made this clarification during a recent appearance on the KaaTruths podcast, where he spoke candidly about various aspects of his life, including his marriage, political ambitions, family, and career.
During the interview, Yul addressed public speculation surrounding his relationship with his three children. He revealed that he recently had a conversation with his son, who informed him about gaining admission into a university and attending his matriculation ceremony.
Yul explained that he was unable to attend the event because he did not receive the information early enough.
He also clarified why he no longer shares photos or updates about his children with May on social media. According to him, a court order linked to their ongoing divorce proceedings prohibits both parties from posting their children online.
“The reason I don’t post my kids with May is not because we are not close,” he said. “There is a court order instructing us to stop posting our children. I am still very much in contact with them, and I also support my son financially through their mother.”
When asked about honesty in his relationship with his estranged wife, Yul went on to respond during the interview.
“The main issue is not on social media. I would rather not say anything. I don’t want to say my ex-wife did this, my ex-wife did that. Real men don’t tackle issues like that. It is all family stuff , nobody is perfect.”
