Chrissy Teigen has opened up about one of the personal habits she believes has helped keep her marriage to John Legend strong after 12 years.
Speaking to E! News at a Netflix event on Tuesday, the model and cookbook author revealed that she maintains a sense of mystery around certain private moments. “For all he knows, I have never farted or p+oped,” she said.
Teigen explained that preserving attraction, even in small ways, matters in a long-term relationship. “You got to keep the sexy and preserve the sexy in a little bit of ways. I won’t say that John necessarily does that all the time, but I make sure that I do,” she added.
The couple, who are parents of four children, renewed their wedding vows in Italy in 2023 during a ceremony marking their 10th wedding anniversary.
Reflecting on her views about marriage, Teigen recalled advice she shared in 2018 while raising their daughter Luna and expecting their son Milo. She stressed the importance of unity, saying, “I think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime.”
She also encouraged couples not to lose sight of their relationship after having children. “Never forget your relationship as partners and lovers, that’s so important,” she said.
Teigen emphasized teamwork in parenting, noting, “We created this thing and we’re going to solve it together.”
According to her, effort remains essential in marriage, even during difficult times. “Sometimes I don’t want to make John feel good and I’m sure he has the same with me, but it’s my keen advice to do it anyway.”
