Activist Detoun Adejobi has hit back at Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun after police filed six charges against her for alleged cyberbullying.
The charges relate to a December 2025 video where Detoun criticized the state after a fatal accident that killed two friends of boxer Anthony Joshua. She said the state lacked emergency services and called the governor irresponsible.
On January 19, Ogun Police said she made false claims, cyberbullied the governor, and ignored police invites. They also claimed her medical excuse was fake.
On Instagram, Detoun denied dodging the police, saying she told them she’d be available on January 27. She rejected cyberbullying claims, saying she speaks for Ogun residents.
She added that Governor Abiodun ignores public issues and attends parties instead of governing, unlike Lagos officials who respond quickly to citizens.
‘’What legacies are you living? an uncompassionate man…what legacies have you left in six years and what legacy are you living afterwards? Look at how Ogun state is looking anyhow now? You now look at me and think I am politically motivated? I am speaking for my people and my people do not need to like the way I speak.
“Dapo, I have brought you so low to where you are supposed to be! You ignored us for so many years and we refuse any subdued governance. You must be held accountable to us. When we talk you will listen to us.
“You said you will make sure you send me to prison? Dapo! You do not know the person who is standing in front of you. Me! Those who handed over to you didn’t tell you they couldn’t succeed? Dapo! It is our country! This is our country! You cannot subdue me ‘’
“According to her, all public office holders now hide under the ‘’Cybercrime law to oppress Nigerians.” She said as a sitting governor, residents have a right to follow the governor anywhere he goes and demand accountability from him.
‘’I told you you do not have home training, Dapo. If you have home training, you will not be gloating and rantting and using power up and down. You are so desperate to go to the Senate yet you cannot protect us, you cannot defend us? Who the hell are you Dapo? People are saying that I abused you? when I was begging and crying, how many people saw it?’
“Dapo, this battle is for me and you, bring it on, I have said it. I a not running. What is backing me and standing by me is bigger than you. What will make me fall is not in your hand. You cannot lock me up in any prison., stop gloating. Your predecessors were not successful at it. Face me! Prove me what I have alleged, I am ready to prove.
“Your state is not at peace yet you flew to France to attend a party. Always going to parties!’ she said in anger
