Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was on Monday, January 12, 2026, arraigned before the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, over multiple criminal allegations, including assault, theft, and obstruction of police duties.

The singer is facing a nine-count charge following a complaint filed by his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, Portable allegedly assaulted Ashabi and several other individuals at his bar located in Iyana Ilogbo on New Year’s Day. Police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that the incident led to a formal investigation and subsequent charges.

Among the allegations, Portable is accused of attacking a female police officer, Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi, while she was performing her official duties. The charge sheet also lists Ileyemi Damilola as a victim, alleging that the singer stole her Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at ₦12 million. The vehicle was reportedly purchased from Wally Dex Auto.

During the court proceedings, Portable’s application for bail was denied. The presiding judge ruled that the absence of Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi in court made it impossible to consider bail, stressing that her presence was required before any decision could be taken.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that it has opened an investigation into a viral video circulating online, which allegedly shows Portable being mistreated while in police custody.
