Nigerian media personality and social media influencer Peller has publicly responded to the recent ban on the TikTok live feature in Nigeria, dismissing concerns that the development would negatively impact his income.
In a statement, Peller pushed back against the expectation that he would be distressed by the ban, asserting that his financial stability is secured through lucrative brand deals.
Peller declared that his income streams far exceed what he earns from the social media platform:
“People are expecting me to be crying after Tikt0k bann£d live in Nigeria thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands and none of my endorsement is less than ₦40 million.”
The influencer’s reaction highlights a growing trend among top Nigerian social media personalities who have transitioned from relying solely on platform earnings (like live session gifts or tips) to capitalizing on major brand ambassadorships.
